Crunch Time? Is it here?

I have realized that....
a. the Shamrock 8k is in 25 days
b. the monument Ave 10k is in 39 days
c. the Duathlon is in 46 days!!!!!!

I have yet to ever ride outside. I am told to expect to fall. Oh no. That would not make for good photos! haha. But seriously, 46 days! that is all of 7 weekends. so if i ride outside every weekend that is only riding outside 7 times before the race. my nervousness has now increased dramatically. the silver bullet has only been ridden outside when i was test riding it. and then i didn't even know how to change the gears on her! my stomach is in knots. i need to get out to west creek...pronto!

who's interested in a nice cold short ride?!

Take a deep breath. You are going to do great with all your races! Would love to try and hook up with you for an outside ride at West Creek. (Which is a great place to practice on your bike - quiet roads, not a lot of traffic, lots of fellow cyclists).

i'm up for w. creek too. it is so nice out it's hard to say no. now...to just find the time. I'm planning on riding outside in March anyway...the bank account for cycling inside is almost dry.
You will be so much less likely to fall than anyone else exactly becuase you've been practicing indoors. Just do a few more one footed drills. And to some visulization of un-clipping each time you want to stop. BTW, don't unclip both sides at the same time!

I'd be up for a ride at W.C. too. Saturday or Sunday is good with me. The weather is supposed to be in the high 50's/low 60's! Suh-weet!

Awesome! maybe we can all touch base friday and figure out a plan for this weekend and take advantage of this fab weather!

I think I need to invest in a bike rack for my car. sicne the only time it has traveled jay has done that for me, I don't know how to get the thing in my car. Ideas? Thoughts?

I'm up for WC too. You'll be fine. Remember when I fell off my bike ON THE &^%$ TRAINER a couple weeks ago? One of the things I learned is that clipping out is instinctive. You can do it!

M-
You'll do just fine. I'll be joining the WC crew in March (unless the weather is miserable). I'm still a little spastic with clipping out - but it gets better all the time.
