I Am Not Alone

While I spend hours (yes hours) on the elliptical to train for the marathon, I can know now that I am not alone! I have made the decision to contonue pushing towards my goal...and there are more out there like me.

TG JH spotted a fellow marathoner in training. and how is he training...by ellipticallizing!

I especially like this line in his blog:
"What kind of mindless retard can numb his brain long enough to stay on an elliptical for an hour and forty minutes without going absolutely crazy, maybe even speaking in tongues. Me, that's the answer. I'm the kind of mindless retard. I don't know if anybody else has ever used one of the YMCA's elliptical machines for 110 minutes straight. I'd imagine most people might hang themselves somewhere around 80 minutes."
Glad you didn't hang yourself--we'd miss your smiling face.
Hang in there and I'll see you Sunday!

Yup - we all find ourselves doing this kind of training from time to time. Think of all those laps we sometimes swim....it makes an elliptical seem interesting. :)

At least you have a tv to ease some of the boredom. Imagine training through aqua jogging - only people watching to distract.

Melissa, I don't know which is worse ellipticating or pool running which is what I am relegated to while training for Richmond. Hang in there, if I can do a three hour pool run you can ellipticate for 3 hours too. We can be buddies retardedness. Heh heh!!! KateG
